The Friends of The Dowse would like to invite you to an informative evening with Jennifer Whitty from Space Between, an initiative at Massey University's College of Creative Arts which addresses the wastefulness of the current textile/clothing system using design thinking. This will be a talk/interactive session on changing consumer behaviour and aims to develop competencies and more sustainable approaches to buying and using clothing. This Friends event supports the current Political Ecology exhibition currently on at The Dowse.
Space Between work collaboratively with the private and not-for profit partners to develop a new kind of sustainable fashion system, one that can create value for people, planet and profit. They have worked with NZ Post to take their old uniforms and turn them into the Fundamentals Range. Check them out at spacebetween.ac.nz
As part of the workshop, please bring along an item of clothing that you wear often, and another item of clothing that you don't wear very often.
We look forward to seeing you there.
